In this 5 part series [#BuildACohesiveVisualBrand], I am going to breakdown each of these 5 key aspects, along with a mini case study to drive home the point of each aspect.

You ready?

The 5 Key Aspects to Visual Branding are:

  1. Imagery
  2. Color
  3. Typography
  4. Logo
  5. Ideal Client

Part 1: Imagery

Your visuals are everything! From the photos you choose to place on your website to the patterns you use; even how you style your hair or outfit for a branding photoshoot! Your imagery should reflect your brand position, your brand style and tell your brand’s story.

Let’s use a brand to look at closely. Look at the photos on the website for www.zara.com. Notice how clean, minimal and modern they look? You want all your visuals to be consistent with your brand style. Zara has a very modern, clean and minimalistic approach to their visual brand. Notice how they use a lot of white space on their website and everything is broken up into a grid. They use a lot of black, white, grays, and muted tones; the clothing adds pops of colors. Even the models and the styling of the makeup is cohesive. Now let’s take a look at their social media accounts to see their brand cohesiveness across all platforms.
